Message I know I caused a lot of contraversy with my last post, and I'd like to clear it up. You guys are generally right. I am not even 16, I'm not rich, and I'm in no way an experienced driver. When I said careful I meant responsible, in terms of doing stupid stuff. You might say sure, that's all good, but once you get in that car w/ your friends it'll change. Believe me, it won't. I know because if I ever do get a z, you can bet your ass I won't be doing anything stupid in it, because I will have spent so much time and money to get that car that I won't even think of racing it. Not all 16 year olds are the same. My friends drink. 99% of my high school has been convicted w/ some type of drug offense. (little exaggeration) but I don't drink, i have never tried any sort of drug, I'm a 4.0 student, involved in many activities, and I've heard too many stories of kids like me screwing up just once and losing their lives because of it to do anything dangerous in a car. For every one of those stories about some teenager in a fast car doing something stupid, there is another one just like it about a kid who didn't screw up. those stories don't get as much attention, for obvious reasons. a few of you brought up an excellent point about not worrying about me hurting myself, but hurting someone else. believe it or not, being afraid of hurting someone else would weigh much more heavily on my decisions than risking my own safety. whoever took my message the wrong way and was making fun of me because I said I'm careful, I hope you're proud of yourself, but you don't sound a bit more mature than me. age can have a lot to do with maturity, but not in some cases. I don't know what I can do to convince you guys that I'm not going to make any decisions that put anyone in danger. Everything I've heard about how "you're a teenager, you're going to drink and get high and have sex and race cars" none of it has come true, and don't think I haven't had the opportunity. That's why I believe I can maintain the same level of maturity behind the wheel.

All I wanted to do was get some honest answers about this car, to help me make an informed decision. To those of you who had useful information, thank you. I appreciate your comments. And also to those of you who disagree w/ me, but do it in a respectful way.

And lastly, I am not planning on getting a nice car for a long time (well, atleast more than a year) and until then I will be driving my parents' ford explorer and manual '92 ranger. I never said I was gonna go get this car tomorrow.
